Yes – Supertherm coal burns very well when used in open fireplaces and grates. This fuel is designed to be used in fireplaces without creating as much smoke as other non-smokeless coals.
It is not recommended to use Supertherm coal in a log burner, wood-burning stove or fireplace designed for just wood. This is because coal burns much hotter than wood and could lead to serious damage to the log burner, even resulting in risk to people in the vicinity.
Supertherm is long-lasting. A fire built from Supertherm coal will burn steadily overnight or through the day.
Always store Supertherm Coal away from heat and electrical sources to avoid unintentional fires.
The briquettes are not brittle like Anthracite or Bituminous coal. They are made in a manageable shape for home burning. You should not need to break Supertherm briquettes.
